Small and Splendid
I am so glad to be sharing this one, it is just the cutest backyard wedding! It was held in St. Clair Shores in Michigan right on the lake. The ceremony and reception was held in the back garden of the grooms family home on a gorgeous day! The groom, Tjon is a car designer and the bride, Ana is an artist. Both designed every detail of the wedding and really gave it that personal touch. I just love working with other creatives!

So we got the chance to shoot on the grounds of the famous Edsel and Eleanor Ford house in Detroit. The house was amazing, such a great backdrop for couple portraits. We had a field day shooting!

After portraits we went back to the house for the reception. It was a breezy but beautiful evening!

Simplicity in Central Park
So I thought for our first post on our brand new blog I would share with you one of your favorite recent weddings. This wedding was great for many reasons. It all started with a great couple! They made it clear from the beginning that they wanted journalistic photos. So with them leaving us three hours for couple portraits within the amazing city of New York, it was hard for us not to get nice shots. The day started with a casual Ceremony in Central park. How can you not enjoy this ceremony as the Conservatory Gardens are the perfect setting!

After the Ceremony we had a lot of time to capture some great shots of the couple. So we started in Central park and then traveled down 5th Avenue toward The Plaza. We managed to also sneak in a quick stop at the Metropolitan Museum along the way to get that real New York feel. Every time I am out shooting in New York even if its a location I have shot many times, I am still astounded at what a great backdrop it is. It is ever changing and completely unpredictable which is why we love it!

We then traveled to Hoboken, NJ for the reception. What is a better way to capture New York than to have the chance to shoot in the City and then from afar. The skyline is beautiful from Hoboken and was a great addition to a great day of shooting!
